Our Little Bookworm

Brooklyn loves books!!! She really likes looking at the pictures and flipping through the pages when we read to her. The other day, while Greg was working, we were playing on the floor and reading books. I sat her up and gave her a book and left the room and when I came back this is what she looked liked. It was so cute!! She was just sitting up looking through her book and trying to turn the pages. Brooklyn is such a smart little baby and catches on to things so quick!! She amazes me!

Any Suggestions?!?!

So this is what you see when you turn on our camera! Curious as to why? Well i will tell you.... Tuesday morning I got in the car to head to my class and after putting the car into drive it wouldnt really move. So i thought, crap i hope i dont have a boot or a flat tire! Sooo i get out to check the tires when low and behold i see our camera case underneath the passenger side back tire of our car!!!! I coudn't believe it!!! I hurried and backed the car off the camera and prayed it wasn't smashed. Well it wasn't smashed, just the view finder was cracked and broken, but when you turned it on you see something similar to the picture! I started crying and and went back in the house, showed Greg, who started laughing, and went and sat on the bathroom floor and cried some more!
We got back really late monday night from star valley, and I was trying to carry most of our stuff in the house in one trip and i must have dropped the camera while i was grabbing everything! Not only did i run it over, but there happened to be a rainstorm monday night as well. I am so mad at myself and can't believe i ruined our nice and not exactly cheap camera!!!
SO I need some advice from all of you. I have been looking around at different cameras on the internet and i want to know what cameras you guys use and love!!! Our old camera was great! It was 8 mp and 10x optical zoom, so i want a camera with at least that, oh and not extremely expensive!!! So if you have any suggestions throw them our way!!!!

Birthdays!

Greg turned 24 on Monday and Brooklyn turned 6 months old on Wednesday!!! I can't believe how fast the time has gone by!!! We had an early birthday party for Greg and Brooklyn, since my grandpa's funeral was on Greg's actuall birthday. Greg made a great lunch (he wanted to do it) and his brother Sam came over to eat and have mississippi mud pie, Greg's version of a birthday cake. Greg got a new shirt and tie, a movie, new scriptures, money, candy, and candyland! We got brooklyn a purple ball to play with and her own toothbrush, she always wants ours and so we got her her own baby toothbrush that lights up and she loves it! Uncle sam brought Brooklyn a talking winnie the pooh and its her new favorite toy!

Today we had Brooklyn's 6 month appointment and her last set of shots until she is a year! She is weighing in at 16 pounds 14 ounces! She gained 3 pounds in 2 months!!! But she is only 69% for weight. She is 26 1/4 inches long and 72% for height. So she is growing like a weed!!! She now has the chubby wrists, thighes, and cheeks and we love it!! The past couple of months she has been going to bed before 10:30 and sleeps all night until at least 10 a.m.! It's AMAZING! She's such a great happy baby and is so much fun! We love her soooo much!

A Tribute

This past week our family lost a very special member of our family. My Grandpa Wolfley passed away last Wednesday night after a long and valiant battle with diabetes and various other health problems. He had been in the hospital for about a week when Greg, Brooklyn and I were able to go and see him, one last time. While we were at the hospital my grandpa took a turn for the worse and by Wednesday night he passed peacefully away with his family by his side. I had a very special bond with my grandpa, he was like a second father to me and I love him very much. All of my life I was very close to both him and my grandma, and so losing him was a very big shock. He was such great person and taught me so many things throughout my life. I am sad that Brooklyn won't get to grow up knowing her great-grandpa tex but she will know of his life and legacy! Even though we will all miss my grandpa so much, I am thankful that he is not sick and in pain and suffering anymore. I am so thankful for the knowledge that the gospel gives to us of life after death and that families can be forever! I am thankful for this gospel and for the comfort and strength it gives to me when times get hard. I will miss my grandpa so much, but I know that he is in such a better place, and now he can watch over me and my little family as we go throughout our lives.
This is one of the only pictures we have of Brooklyn and my Grandparents
It's amazing to me to see how the Lord has a hand in all things. Just a week before my grandpa died, we happened to learn how to do funeral flowers in my class, and because of this I was able to do the flowers for my Grandpa's funeral service. It was a great experience being able to do this for my grandpa, it meant a lot to me and I am thankful for the opportunity. I know that my grandpa was there with me while I made his flowers, and every once in a while his voice would come into my head saying "looks good sis!" I know that he was watching me!
Here are just a few pictures of how the flowers turned out

We love and miss you Grandpa, and we can't wait to see you again!

This post is mainly for the fam...

So I have decided that I am going to start a business just to do funeral flowers and I'm naming it: Flowers to Die For! I think it's pretty catchy don't you? Ok ok..just kidding I am not doing a business in funeral flowers, but for some of you that don't know I am majoring in Floral Design and I don't ever post pictures of the things that I create. Today in class we took a run at funeral flowers and it was actually my first time making a casket piece and easel spray. Despite the fact that we were only allowed to use flowers that were pretty much dead and I only had 25 minutes to make the casket piece, I think they turned out ok...so I just thought I'd share

2 Years Already?

Monday was our 2 Year anniversary!!! I can't believe how fast the time has gone by, and how much our lives have changed! It seems like we just barely got married! It was a really great day and started off with Greg "kidnapping" Brooklyn and I. We went to breakfast in our p.j.s at frontier pies, and then we rented a few movies and camped out in the living room, lounging around and watching movies the rest of the day. Later that night we decided that we didn't want to cook, so we went and got another movie (hooray for free redbox codes on mondays!) and picked up a pizza from Craigos! I am sooo thankful that I am married to Greg and that we to spend the next 70 years plus eternity together!! I love you sweets!

VaLeNtInEs DaY

Valentine's Day was so much fun this year!!! It was our 3rd Valentine's being together and our first with Brooklyn! I had to work at the Flower Shoppe for part of the day, and it was actually pretty slow this year!
Last Thursday our ward had a Valentine's Dance, but Greg had to work and so we didn't get to go, so for Valentine's Day Greg surprised me with our own Valentine's Dance. We both got dressed up and went to dinner at the Hardhat and then went to the dance! The apartment was decorated with streamers and balloons, and Greg even bought me a corsage! It was so cute and so tons of fun! I loved it!
Earlier that day I had sent Greg around the apartment on a scavenger hunt find various little presents....then Greg surprised me with a dozen chocolate roses, and a single long stem red rose! It was such a great Valentine's day and we had so much fun together!
