just a little update

I finally have a day off of homework since school has started and Brooklyn is down for a nap, so I have a few minutes to put some new pics up! She is always soooo bright eyed and happy!!! I love it!
This is a new hobby/addiction i just learned how to do! I have wanted to get Brooklyn some cute headbands and bows, but I didn't want to pay the $5-$6 a piece for each one, when I knew I could probably figure it out myself! So after some massive internet searching Ifinally found some great instructions, and here is what we have so far!
It's a tad bit too big for her, but oh well she'll grow into them!

Brooklyn loves just chillin in her diaper! She goes crazy kicking and gurgling once her clothes are off, its kinda funny!
Her feet finally hit the ground in her jumper and holy cow she goes nuts in it! We have a few videos of it but for some reason our computer won't play them or let me upload them...but trust me it's amusing to watch! Sometimes I swear she is going to jump right out of it!
For some exciting news, Greg has gotten accepted to Ohio Northern Law School, so we for sure have a place to go, but now we are just waiting to hear back from the other 7 or 8 schools he applied to! We are really excited to hear back from the other schools and have the opportunity to move in the next few months! I am so proud of Greg for all the hard work he has done this last year getting prepared for law school!!!
Also the night I did my last post about having problems getting Brooklyn to sleep early, she was asleep by 10:15 that night!! Ever since then she has been asleep anywhere from 9 to 10:30 which is sooo amazing!! Not only is she asleep early but she sleeps until 9 or 10 a.m. We are loving it! The last few nights I have just laid her in her crib after she finished eating and she just puts herself asleep, no crying whatsoever! She's such a GREAT baby!

Cute Pictures and First Cereal

I can't believe how fast time is going by! Brooklyn is already 4 months old and she is growing up and developing sooooo fast!!!! She loves playing on her tummy and looking up at everything! She has almost mastered the back to belly roll, and is close to finding her feet!!!! I can't believe how smart and how funny she is! Her new thing is to constantly blow bubbles and gurgle and let out occasional high pitched squeals! Brooklyn finally opened her fists up and now she grabs anything she can reach, which then goes straight to her mouth! She is always happy and has a huge smile on her face, it makes my day when i just look at her and she gives me a huge grin! The last couple of months all she has wanted to do is stand up and sit up, she gets mad if you try to hold her like a baby! Some of her new things lately is to smile a huge grin with her mouth closed..it makes me laugh so much because she looks sooo goofy but i love it! Another thing she loves is kicking herself back over your lap to look upside down, for some reason it fascinates her.
This week we started to give her rice cereal and....she absolutely loves it!!!! I don't think she can get enough! At first she wasn't sure about the texture but after a few bites she was making all sorts of noises and diving for the spoon! She eats about two little bowls of it before she acts like she doesn't want anymore

These are just a few random pictures that i threw in just for fun! She is getting so big and starting to get a few little rolls! We took her to the doc. last week and she is 25 3/4 inches long and 13 lbs 14 oz, so she is gaining about a pound and growing 1 1/2-2 inches a month!

This girl loves the bathtub! I think she'd stay in it for hours if the water would stay warm for her! She goes crazy the minute she hits the water, constantly kicking and splashing her arms! If we don't leave her in long enough she gets really mad when we take her out!

That is pretty much all that is new in our lives. I just started my last semester at BYU Idaho and Greg has submitted all of his law school applications, so now he just has to wait to get accepted!

One more thing that I forgot to mention, We need some serious help getting Brooklyn on a decent schedule so that I am not exhausted for my early morning classes! I have tried what seems like everything to get Brooklyn asleep at least before 11 and nothing has worked! She barely takes naps during the day, if we are lucky she will take maybe one or two 2 hr (at the most) naps a day, and then she is up smiling and talking until at least 12:30 at night or later!!! Once she is asleep though she sleeps throught the night, the problem is her staying up so late! I have tried starting to get her ready for bed as early as 9 and we are still up until almost one, so if any of you have any great tricks or tips let us know!!! (sorry for the huge post!)

Brooklyn's First Christmas

This was Brooklyn's first Christmas and she had sooo much fun getting spoiled to death by all of her grandparents, aunt, uncles, and of course us! She really hit the jackpot this year! Brooklyn was one of the last ones awake Christmas morning, but she loved it all! When we would put a present in front of her, her eyes would get huge and she'd get soooo excited! She got so many books and clothes and fun toys to play with! I guess the excitement was too much for her to handle because shortly after we started opening presents she conked out! It was a really fun day and we just hung out and lounged around all day!

Christmas Eve

We are spending the vacation in Oregon with Greg's family. Greg's family has a few different traditions that they do for Christmas Eve. One of the first things that we did that night was take Christmas to a family that needed it in the community. Before we left, Greg's little brother Jake dressed up as Santa Clause and we drove around town taking candy bars and candy canes to families in their ward. Then Jake dropped off a big box of food and presents for a special family.

It was so much fun watching the faces of the kids when they opened the door to Santa Clause and some of the little old ladies getting so confused as to why Santa was at their door giving them chocolate! It's such a great tradition and Greg and I hope to be able to continue the tradition of giving Christmas to a family in need every year with our own family!

The second tradition that their family does is to act out the Nativity. Before they start everyone draws a part to play and then you have 2 minutes to run around the house and get your costume together!

Greg was lucky enough to be Mary, the mother of Jesus, who of course is Brooklyn

Greg's mom Karen was the Shepherd

One more shot of "Mary"

Greg's other brother Sam was the donkey

Jake as Joseph

Courtney as the Angel
Greg's dad narrated the story and we all walked in at our parts. I had never done this before and I could not stop laughing, but it was a fun experience and such a good tradition. All though it was really funny, it helped us to remember what Christmas is all about!

Graduation!

YAY! On Friday Greg was able to graduate from BYU Idaho!! Greg's family was able to come up from Oregon and spend some time with us! On Friday afternoon we were able to go to the graduation banquet, where the College President Kim Clark and President Uchtdorf were speaking. We got there early enough that we got really sweet seats, we were about 30 ft away from President Uchtdorf's table, and I had a clear shot of him! After the banquet we went down to the commencement ceremony. It was so cool to see all the graudates together, Greg was one of 1,163 graduates, the biggest class so far. Im so glad that Greg was able to graduate, doing it in only 3 1/2 years including leaving for a mission!!! We only have one more semester left here in Rexburg, long enough for me to graduate, and then we are off to law school, wherever that may be! Here are just some of the pictures from the night!
