At the end of July Brooklyn and I packed up and flew to New Jersey to meet Greg. At the airport in Phoenix, Brooklyn made friends with this cute little girl while we waited for our next flight.
They were super cute and the little girl was so nice to Brooklyn. They snuggled right up to each other and watched the movie.
The first day in New Jersey Greg took us to the court house where he clerked all summer. Brooklyn thought it was cool to sit in "daddy's office."
Greg and some of the ladies he worked with. The judge for this office was out of town that day.
and this is the second judge, Judge Reed, and the rest of the crew that Greg worked with.
Outside the courthouse in Flemmington New Jersey.
After we visited the courthouse we went around Newark. This is the building where Greg went to church all summer with the Portuguese branch.
The "Little Brazil" part of town
and the train station.
The place where Greg stayed all summer was only a few blocks away from the train that would take you into the city. We spent 2 days in New York!
Brooklyn was excited to ride the train
While we were in the city we did 4 bus tours!
Greg and Brooklyn waiting for the first tour bus to come.
Where one of my favorite shows, Project Runway, is filmed
The Empire State Building!
The Brooklyn Bridge and Downtown Manhattan
The World Trade Center site
One of my favorite buildings in NYC
Another shot of the city coming back from Brooklyn
I loved this sign
Brooklyn stole the camera and got this shot of Times Square after our night tour
and this one too!
On the bus, Brooklyn was getting pretty tired by the end of the day.
We also stopped in the Toys R Us. She loves playing Candy Land so we had to get a picture of King Candy!
On our last day we had our Harbor Cruise Tour around the city. Brooklyn was not a happy camper, but after not eating for two days because of little mouth sores, I would be grumpy too!
Lady Liberty!
Despite Brooklyn's expression, she really was excited to see the Statue of Liberty! She had talked about it for days and once she finally saw it she wouldn't take her eyes off of it.
Our hotel...probably made in the 1900's and hasn't been updated since, but it was cheap and close to Times Square!
Her first meal in 2 days! Yogurt through a straw. She was so scared to put anything into her mouth and would just start crying because it hurt. We felt so bad for her. But she survived the rest of the trip on Pediasure and gogurts.
A shot of the uptown buildings in Manhattan
Engine 54 was one of the stations called out for 9/11
After a little bit of food in her tummy, she perked back up to her goofy self...I wonder where she gets it from?
The Manhattan Temple!
She was excited to see it!
On the bus for our Uptown Tour
After having a rough couple of days she was exhausted!
The Guggenheim Museum. The building itself was awesome!
The Plaza Hotel, from one of our favorite movies-Home Alone
Brooklyn's favorite store
She was very fond of the Statue of Liberty, in any form.
Of course Brooklyn's highlight of the day was posing with Mickey in Times Square
While we were there Sam's girlfriend, Veronica, was able to come into the city and hang out with us! Brooklyn was so excited to see her!
We could not walk past a costume rack with out her trying on all the shoes, including Tinker Bell
and Jessie's boots from Toy Story
One of Brooklyn's favorite displays: Tangled!
We had to get a group shot in Times Square before we headed back to Jersey.
My one request while in New Jersey was to see where they film one of my favorite shows: Cake Boss! We didn't go in though, the 3 hour line in the sweltering heat just wasn't too enticing!
So we settled for pictures instead
And finally, the view of the skyline from New Jersey.
We sure love that place!
