The Birthday Girl!

Everyday Brooklyn asks if any mail came for her that day. Usually I have to say no, but the days leading up to her birthday she got 5 letters in one day! She was thrilled to have mail!
Great-Grandma Wolfley sent her a book written by a lady in my hometown, and she got lots of other fun cards and of course money.
Her last night as a 4 year old!
Up and ready to open some presents before she had to leave for school! I am telling you, I wish I could look this good straight out of bed!
Opening her first presents-Lots of Disney Princess books.
Bostyn got her some new Disney cups.
They were both pretty excited about the dress up Minnie Mouse dolls they got.

She loved the Tinkerbell shirt! Are you sensing a theme here yet?
She was a little confused when she opened a coupon for an airplane ticket.
and still more confused when she opened a picture of a Disneyland ticket.
For weeks we have been telling her that on her birthday she would finally know what the big surprise was that had planned. She was thrilled and a little shocked when we told her we were leaving for Disneyland in a few days!
Showing off some of the goods.
The Minnie dolls were a hit. So were the giant blueberry muffins I made as requested by the birthday girl.
 Ready for school!
While she was gone, Bostyn helped me get everything ready for the party.
 She is obsessed with spoons.
She decided to sit and read while I frosted the cupcakes.
The party theme this year-Jake and the Neverland Pirates!
She was very specific that she wanted a giant cookie AND chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting.
I wasn't sure what I was going to do with the cookie to make it look cute, but I really liked how it ended up!
I LOVE having a Silhouette to make fun party decorations.
For her party, we had all of her friends and their families over for a bbq and games.
First all of the kiddos had to walk the plank!

Then we played pin the tail on the Tick'tock'Croc

And our last game was a hook toss. It lasted for about 2 mins before all of the kids were running around the yard chasing each other with the hooks.
Finally after Brooklyn asking several times if it was time for people to sing to her, we sang to the birthday girl!
 She was sooo happy!

 Make a wish!
Bostyn thought the cupcakes were pretty yummy,
so did her little friend Lucy.
After the party, I almost forgot to get a picture with her on her birthday.
Love this girl, and can't believe she is already 5 years old!
Before bedtime, she remembered she had few presents from her friends to open.
 She loved every gift!
Bostyn and Greg loved the candy she got...
Showing off all of her great birthday gifts!
And so excited to leave for Disneyland a few days later.

Cute pictures and 1st day of Preschool

One of the many reasons I love having girls is that I get to dress them in similar outfits! I love when we go to church, or the stores and people comment on how cute they are dressed like each other and Brooklyn loves matching Bostyn too!
All ready for church.
On Sunday afternoons we often find ourselves going out for a drive around the lake. The girls love to stop and run down the dock and look into the water.
Bostyn got a little freaked out when Greg pretended to throw her in the lake.
 So cute!
Ever since she was little and walking on the beach, to now walking around the lake we always tell Brooklyn, "Don't get in the water and don't get wet!" It never fails that she always ends up in the water and always says something like "Oh I forgot you said that". Good thing she is so cute!
So a few days before this picture, Bostyn had gotten a hold of Greg's wallet and had dropped a credit card down in between the boards. We tried sticking tape on wooden spoons to snatch it up, and ended up dropping all of our spoons. So a few days later Brooklyn was determined to save the spoons. One Saturday morning we could hear Brooklyn yelling for help an this is how we found her. She had gotten the spoons but got stuck trying to get out. It was so funny and sad at the same time. We finally managed to cut down some of the rose bushes and she crawled out the side, with only a few scratches.
Brooklyn started her first day of Preschool on September 3rd. She was so excited to finally be going to school!

Waiting for the bus to come!
Poor Bostyn didn't know what to do with herself after Brooklyn left.
Getting on the bus and so excited for her first day!

 Waving bye-bye to "Sissy"
Brooklyn has been loving school and has made lots of new friends. She was a little weary about trying new fruits and vegetables at school for a few days, but now she is all smiles and so excited to get on the bus every day!
