Fabulous February

Every month seems to be flying by! Here is a summary of what we did in February.
Brooklyn loves to dress up and especially likes to wear my shoes and "look pretty."
Bostyn was a big girl and stopped getting a bottle!
Sporting another pair of boots, and this time dad's hat.
Good thing she looks good in anything!
We still had a good amount of snow in February, so after another snowstorm we shoveled the deck off and built up a little hill for Brooklyn to slide down.
The only problem was, we didn't have a sled....
So we improvised with a pizza pan...it actually worked really well!

Brooklyn is growing up waaaay too fast.
For Valentines Day we sent all of our grandmas a special Valentine hug in the mail.
The week of Valentines Day we had a fun Valentine playgroup, so they dressed up extra cute for the party.
Bostyn wasn't a huge fan of taking pictures.

All of the big kids making Valentines for their dad.
Meanwhile, Bostyn and Lucy snuck into the snacks.
Somehow Bostyn got a hold of a pink marker...
I think she will be pretty good at putting on lipstick in the future.
 Making a card for daddy.
After they made their cards, they all got to decorate a Valentine cookie.
Some kids got a little carried away with the sprinkles, but they all loved it!
Finally it was time to handout their Valentines. We made cute little butterfly blow pop valentines.

We made lots of Valentine cookies for Greg to take to work too.
On actual Valentines Day, this is what we had waiting for the girls when they woke up.
It is a tradition to get a special Valentine balloon every year.
And we always have pink heart pancakes.

For Valentines dinner I had planned a special surprise menu. They had to pick one or two numbers that were assigned to each part of the meal for every course. For example, Brooklyn lucked out and got dessert first, and Greg and I had to eat our salad with our hands, because we didn't order forks.
We had our traditional heart shaped pizza as well.
All cleaned up and ready for bed. We had a super fun holiday!
Brooklyn is always dressing up, this time she captured Bostyn and managed to get her into a Tinkerbell dress too.
Bostyn's hair is finally long enough for a little ponytail. It is sooo cute!
On the 16th we celebrated 6 years of marriage!! Lucky for us Sam and Veronica came up to visit that weekend and watched the girls so we  could go on a date!
Brooklyn loved dressing up in Uncle Sam's greenman suit.

Trying out a yummy sucker that Grandma Sherri sent for Valentines Day.

She has the cutest little grin!

 Practicing going to school.
Giving me her best angry face....trust me the real thing is pretty scary.
I told Bostyn to "Say Cheese" and this was her face. Loved it.
A new favorite activity is playing with shaving cream and practicing writing her letters in it.

Love those cute 4 teeth! Since this picture she now has four molars, two more bottom teeth, and now she has two more top teeth trying to break through.
Enjoying her ultimate favorite treat-chocolate chip cookies.
Bostyn loves them too, as you can see.
We had a pretty busy month, full of ups and downs, but lucky for us, the good outweighed the bad and we made it through!

San Diego Trip

At the end of January, Greg had to go to San Diego for a work training and I got to go with him! It was the first time we both have left Brooklyn and Bostyn for more than a day or two, but they had a blast at Papa and Grandma Baxter's house!
The first thing we did in San Diego was hit up the zoo of course! I have always wanted to go there and I was so excited to see it all.
While we were there we took the bus tour around, and got to see some pretty cool animals.

One of my favorite shots-The polar bear was so fun to watch.

This momma and baby panda were my ultimate favorite animals. I could have watched them all day long, they were so stinking cute!

I love watching the momma bear play with her baby, it was almost  human-like how she held him and played with him.  Adorable!
The hippos were pretty cool to see as well.

On the Sky Tram-it was SUPER high, but fun to see everything.

It was really weird being at the zoo without our girls, but we still had lots of fun!

Showing off the awesome elephant topiary.
The view from our hotel. It reminded me a lot of Jacksonville, and it made me a little homesick!
On our way to Seaport Village we saw this restaurant. Greg was super excited about it because a scene from one of his favorite movies Top Gun, was filmed here.
We loved Seaport Village and walking along the harbor and visiting all of the shops.

These stacked rocks were pretty cool.

I loved the sunset over the water.

A man had a bunch of birds out for people to look at,
then he walked over and sat these cute little birds on my shoulders.
It was fun tell they crawled onto my head..then it just freaked me out a little.

I loved being on this trip with just the two of us!

 Downtown San Diego.
On our way to dinner we walked down along the harbor, and saw some really cool pirate ships!
The day we were leaving for home, we went to Coronado Island, and went to the beach!

We both really missed the beach!
 The sand was soooo sparkly.
The big rocks were so awesome, definitely a west coast beach thing.
 Coronado Hotel

Someone at the beach had made a few different sand castles for people to look at.
The view of the city from the huge bridge to the island.
After a fun and busy week, we were super excited to get back to these two cute girls!
Brooklyn's one request was that we brought her back a jaguar like Diego has.
Plus they got some other fun presents too!

It was so much fun being able to go on this trip with Greg, and being able to spend time together, just the two of us. We are so grateful for Greg's parents for taking care of them while we were gone, luckily we live close enough to them that we get to do fun things like this!
