For Christmas this year Greg's family was awesome and flew the three of us out to Oregon for the holidays! Brooklyn was pretty excited to be able to "Fwy on a airpwane" and go to Grandma and Papa's house! We spent almost 2 weeks with Greg's family and we had sooo much fun! Just see for yourself!
Waiting at the airport at 5 a.m
She was pretty amazed to actually be on the airplane
After about 20 minutes on the flight the exhaustion from getting up at 3:30 that morning took them over!
This was the last picture we took on the airplane...lets just say waking up early, a 4 hour layover, and mom and dad not sitting together creates a VERY unhappy little girl! Just ask any of the nice, understanding, helpful people ( ha. in a perfect world right) on the 3 hour second flight...
But we survived and finally made it to Oregon! Brooklyn was right at home at Grandma and Grandpa's house and had so much fun!
One of Brooklyn's favorite things to do is to sing and play the piano with Grandma!
While we were there Brooklyn got to participate in the Christmas program for the ward! She loved being on stage and singing with all the kids.
Greg and Karen even did an awesome musical number as part of the program as well
We think Brooklyn is headed for a career of acting. For the nativity portion of the program she was assigned to be a sheep! We thought that she would be scared to walk out on stage by herself and be really shy...but no, not this girl! She ran out on stage and started waving, laughing, and yelling "Hello!" to everyone in the audience.
She was fueled by their clapping and cheering and started cheering for herself on stage.
She was quite the show off, but she was a pretty stinkin' cute sheep!
And of course the best part of the night was getting to see Santa again!
Even Grandma got a turn!
A couple of days after arriving it finally snowed! Brooklyn couldn't wait to get outside and play in it. So while I was sleeping off the effects of just getting my wisdom teeth out, Greg bundled her up and took her out for a night time excursion.
A couple of days later, we ventured out again to make her first snowman! She was thrilled!
She loved hugging and kissing "her" snowman (don't mind my stiff smile and puffy cheeks..)
Taking pictures with Uncle Sam!
After playing in the snow, we had to jump on the trampoline too!
What is Christmas without all the Christmas goodies? Courtney and I were cooking up a storm!
And Brooklyn appointed herself the official taste-tester
In between sneaking treats, she was quite the helper!
After all of the treats were made and ready to give to the neighbors, Greg dressed up like Santa to help drop them off.
Brooklyn didn't like this version of Santa so much.
Brooklyn showing off her Christmas Eve jammies!
One of the Baxter family traditions for Christmas Eve is to act out the nativity! We all drew for our characters and then set the timer and had a few minutes to assemble our costume.
Greg was the cow
Brooklyn was the perfect Angel
The Baxter family (minus the narrator)
Right before bed, Brooklyn left Santa a plate of treats and carrots for his reindeer! She was pretty excited about it.
When she woke up Christmas morning she was so excited! She couldn't believe Santa ate her cookies and left all these presents!
Opening presents!
Karen, Courtney, Jake, and Zack ready to open presents!
Two of her favorite presents: Baby Snow White and Cinderella
Santa even brought her a kitty that walks and meows!
She was one happy little girl
Our family Christmas morning
Brooklyn mastered the art of relaxation during this vacation
While we were in Oregon we also go to spend some time with our good friend Patti. Brooklyn loved her.
Brooklyn and Uncle Zack
Brooklyn loved spending time with her Uncles and Aunt Courtney
and she loved being at Grandma and Papa's!
