Brooklyn's First Christmas

This was Brooklyn's first Christmas and she had sooo much fun getting spoiled to death by all of her grandparents, aunt, uncles, and of course us! She really hit the jackpot this year! Brooklyn was one of the last ones awake Christmas morning, but she loved it all! When we would put a present in front of her, her eyes would get huge and she'd get soooo excited! She got so many books and clothes and fun toys to play with! I guess the excitement was too much for her to handle because shortly after we started opening presents she conked out! It was a really fun day and we just hung out and lounged around all day!

Christmas Eve

We are spending the vacation in Oregon with Greg's family. Greg's family has a few different traditions that they do for Christmas Eve. One of the first things that we did that night was take Christmas to a family that needed it in the community. Before we left, Greg's little brother Jake dressed up as Santa Clause and we drove around town taking candy bars and candy canes to families in their ward. Then Jake dropped off a big box of food and presents for a special family.

It was so much fun watching the faces of the kids when they opened the door to Santa Clause and some of the little old ladies getting so confused as to why Santa was at their door giving them chocolate! It's such a great tradition and Greg and I hope to be able to continue the tradition of giving Christmas to a family in need every year with our own family!

The second tradition that their family does is to act out the Nativity. Before they start everyone draws a part to play and then you have 2 minutes to run around the house and get your costume together!

Greg was lucky enough to be Mary, the mother of Jesus, who of course is Brooklyn

Greg's mom Karen was the Shepherd

One more shot of "Mary"

Greg's other brother Sam was the donkey

Jake as Joseph

Courtney as the Angel
Greg's dad narrated the story and we all walked in at our parts. I had never done this before and I could not stop laughing, but it was a fun experience and such a good tradition. All though it was really funny, it helped us to remember what Christmas is all about!

Graduation!

YAY! On Friday Greg was able to graduate from BYU Idaho!! Greg's family was able to come up from Oregon and spend some time with us! On Friday afternoon we were able to go to the graduation banquet, where the College President Kim Clark and President Uchtdorf were speaking. We got there early enough that we got really sweet seats, we were about 30 ft away from President Uchtdorf's table, and I had a clear shot of him! After the banquet we went down to the commencement ceremony. It was so cool to see all the graudates together, Greg was one of 1,163 graduates, the biggest class so far. Im so glad that Greg was able to graduate, doing it in only 3 1/2 years including leaving for a mission!!! We only have one more semester left here in Rexburg, long enough for me to graduate, and then we are off to law school, wherever that may be! Here are just some of the pictures from the night!

So im just a tad bit behind on posting some thanksgiving pictures!!! This year we were able to go to Star Valley and spend time with my family for Thanksgiving. We had a lot of fun hanging out with my family, grandparents, aunts and uncles, and all my little cousins, who all adored and fought over who go to hold Brooklyn next. Only 32?

I found this list on one of my friends blog, and i thought it was funny and really true! I think if you are a mom or mom to be you'll agree with me.

Thirty-two things that change when you have a baby....
1. You finally stop to smell the roses, because your baby is in your arms.
2. Where you once believed you were fearless, you now find yourself afraid.
3. The sacrifices you thought you made to have a child no longer seem like sacrifices.
4. You respect your body... finally.
5. You respect your parents and love them in a new way.
6. You find that your baby's pain feels much worse than your own.
7. You believe once again in the things you believed in as a child.
8. You lose touch with the people in your life whom you should have been banished years ago.
9. Your heart breaks much more easily.
10. You think of someone else 234,836,178,976 times a day.
11. Every day is a surprise.
12. Bodily functions are no longer repulsive. In fact, they please you. (Horray for poop!)
13. You look at your baby in the mirror instead of yourself.
14. You become a morning person.
15. Your love becomes limitless, a superhuman power.
16. You discover how much there is say about one tooth.
17. You finally realize that true joy doesn't come from material wealth.
18. You now know where the sun comes from.
19. You'd rather buy a plastic tricycle than those shows you've been dying to have.
20. You realize that although sticky, lollipops have magical powers.
21. You don't mind going to bed at 9 p.m. on Friday night.
22. Silence? What's that?
23. You realize that the 15 pounds you can't seem to get rid of are totally worth having.
24. You discover an inner strength you never thought you had.
25. You no longer rely on a clock - your baby now sets your schedule.
26. You can give parents with a screaming child an 'I-know-the-feeling' look instead of a 'Can't-they-shut-him-up?' one.
27. Your dog - who used to be your 'baby' - becomes just a dog.
28. You take the time for one more hug and kiss even if it means you'll be late.
29. You learn that taking a shower is a luxury.
30. You realize that you can love a complete stranger.
31. You find yourself wanting to make this world a better place.
32. If you didn't believe in love a first sight before, now you do!
