June Part 1- fishing, swimming and more

The first weekend of June was free kids fishing day. We were headed to Baker that weekend but we decided to stop quick and let Brooklyn fish for the first time!
Ready to do some serious fishing.
I helped Brooklyn cast the line out, and she did the rest.
Bostyn just wandered around and tried to get in the pond.
After a few minutes past we had no luck and Brooklyn was getting impatient.
So we decided to move down and try and new spot...
Then she finally hooked one! She needed a little help reeling it in, but she was so excited!

 Her very first fish!
Greg was pretty excited to try his hand at it as well. After quite a few attempts he had no luck. So while he took Bostyn back to the car, Brooklyn and I decided to try for one more.
We had one on in no time! I ran to get the camera and this is how she kept her grip on the wriggling pole.
The second fish was a little bit bigger and a little harder for her to hold up by herself.
She was so proud of her two fish!
After our fishing expedition we head to Baker for this guy's high school graduation.
Uncle Jake was pretty excited to be done with school and to get ready for his mission!
Joseph always has something fun going on in the summer time and this time it was the old car show.
The girls loved looking at all of the old cars.
We ended up running into a bunch of our friends, and watched the parade with them.
By the end of the show, Bostyn was hot and cranky.
The best cure for that...ice cream of course!
We have made it a tradition to go to R & R and get the 25 cent ice cream cones.
Another great thing about living in Joseph during the summer? Going to Wallowa Lake of course! The lake is soooo clear and clean and the mountains are beautiful!
Bostyn loved going into the water, even though it was pretty cold early in the summer.

 So cute!

After splashing around for a bit, Bostyn loved to run back to her towel and warm up.
While Greg has been at work, the girls and I have spent quite a few hot afternoons up at the lake splashing around. We found a new use for our snow tube too.

Still can't believe this girl is almost 5!
Our girls definitely love the water and being able to go splash and play whenever we want to!
Stay tuned for Part 2 of our super busy month!
